We spent lots of time tromping around in the woods and skiing on the beaver pond. Animal tracks were abundant but we never saw any critters. We made pop corn and our meals on a camp stove and played farkel in front of the fire. We slept on wooded bunks wearing most of our winter gear including hats and mittens. We didn't change our clothes or wash up until we got home.

Cabin Camping
It has been a mild winter and camping is one of our favorite family activities. So we joined the Green Mountain Club and rented a cabin in the NE Kingdom for the weekend. We found the place in the dark with a little help from a local neighbor. Mother nature saw us coming and the mild winter turned into real winter as we arrived. It was 3 degrees the first night and the high for the weekend was 15.

PPA Imaging
I wandered out to San Antonio, TX to attend the Imaging convention. It was time well spent. I did a tiny bit of sight seeing, wishing that I had time to do a lot more. I visited the Alamo and the Texas Ranger Museum. American history has become one of my favorite subjects. Fabulous restaurants everywhere you turn. I give Casa Rio high marks but I mostly ate convention food. Happy hour at the top of The Tower of the Americas was another highlight. 750 feet high, not your everyday happy hour. The programing was first rate, but you had to get there early to get a good seat.
